Minutes

 

Call to Order

President Ralph Wagoner called a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Lake Madison Development Association (LMDA) at 7:00 PM February 1, 2007. 

 

The following directors were in attendance: Curt Nelson, Ralph Wagoner, Michelle Anderson, Martin Jarrett, Gene Moser, Jeff Landeen, Dieter Proehl, Gene Moser, Connie Sinclair, Jeff Nelson, Terry Ryan, Nancy Lammers, Robert Todd.

 

Guests were: Millie Moser, Vicki Seager, Brandon Gust, Jerry Lammers, Charlie and Peggy Stoneback.

 

Secretary’s Report

 

The November 9, 2006 minutes were sent out with the Notice of Meeting.  Director Jeff Nelson moved to accept the LMDA Meeting Minutes as presented. Director Todd seconded. Motion carried.

 

Treasurer’s Report

 

Presented by Millie and Gene Moser.  Report attached.  Director Landeen moved to approve the Treasures Report. Director Proehl seconded. Motion carried.

 

Game Warden, Brandon Gust, and Vicki Seager, Walkers Point and Lake Herman parks manager, reported that:

a.   Construction projects are going on, they are cutting up wood and cleaning up trees.

b.   They are in the process of hiring seasonals.

c.      Checking ice fishermen

d.     Slow reproduction of fish

e.     He is attending training around the state.

 

LMDA received a letter of appreciation for the donation from LMDA.

 

Committee Reports

 

Storm Warning Sirens:  This project is on hold.

 

Robert Todd, Long Range Water Quality Planning Committee Chairman reported:    

There is another monthly meeting on February 8 at the Public Library.  The rebate program for non-phosphorous fertilizer will continue.  There was a motion by Director Todd to move forward with the Enhancement Program and the Intern Program.  Millie Moser seconded.  Motion carried.

 

Terry Ryan, Safety Committee reported no new business.

 

Membership Report:  Michelle Anderson reported in the absence of Karen Dunham.  As of November 9th there were 588 memberships. 

 

Government Relations Committee

 

President Wagoner read the report in the absence of Steve Snyder.

 

Membership Dues

 

Michelle Anderson reported in the absence of Karen Dunham.  After reviewing the membership letter from Karen the Board agreed that the membership dues letter is ready plus a flyer on zero phosphorous fertilizer and an informative page on water quality will be added to the mailing.  The mailing will go out next week.

 

Old Business

 

Michelle Anderson will work on getting new maps for the Directory this year.  She explained a new numbering system for the Directory.  Director Moser motioned to set the new numbering system in effect.  Director Lammers seconded.  Motion carried.

 

New Business

 

Nancy Lammers explained that a bike trail will be built from the City of Madison to Johnsons Point.  Jerome Lammers then explained more about it and asked that LMDA be involved in it.  There was a motion from Director Curt Nelson for LMDA to be involved in the bike trail with the City of Madison.  It was seconded by Director Ryan.  Motion carried.  Director Nancy Lammers will accept the responsability of being the LMDA representative.

 

For the Good of the Order

 

Gene Moser would like to see more news about how LMDA spends money.  For instance, pictures and stories in the paper.

 

Jeff Nelson would like to see LMDA get a spring cleaning program in place.  Ralph Wagoner will contact Jan Nicoly to see how Lake Brandt handles their cleanup.

 

Adjournment

 

Director Nelson motioned to adjourn at 8:30 P.M. as there was no further business.  Director  seconded.  Motion carried.
